Highlights: Clarolynt, getting heckled at The Comedy Stop

Wednesday we woke up at around 11:30 to noonish. We walked next door and checked out the "indoor parachuting" place. We never did end up going to that because there was always a wait.

We decided shows were somewhat fun, so we checked the schedule and noticed that most shows are in the evening. However, "Viva Las Vegas" played at 2PM on Wednesdays, so we decided to go to the Stratosphere where it was playing and see it.

The show was somewhat clichè, with singing, dancing, comedians, a poser magician, a purposely BAD Elvis impersonator (you can buy his CDs after the show), Spike the bird, Jojo & Niffer the dogs, the Celine Dion song from Titanic, etc.

The Elvis impersonator was actually a good impersonator -- he was just impersonating Elvis during his last few years. ie The ones that shouldn't be good enough to grace a postage stamp.

We ate their huge buffet and left.

Then we went to Circus Circus. It was the one time it was raining all week. We lost $40 on $.25 Wheel of Fortune.

We passed a really cool VR rollercoaster that was in an enclosed vehicle that actually flipped and rotated while you were in it. The screen showed what they saw and it was unreal and nothing any actual rollercoaster could do.

The rollercoaster was by the circus act area, which was surrounded by arcade games and stands.

After seeing the circus act, we played blacklight air hockey. We want one of those tables!

We bought some glasses while there too:

Reflective red shotglass we bought at Circus Circus. Cool metallic look. [actually red not purplish]
[actually orange, not pink] Tall plastic cup from Circus Circus. We thought it would glow alot in the blacklight but it was just glowed ever-so-slightly and was somewhat disappointing. [actually orange, not pink]

There was a booth that morphs two photos and shows what the offspring would look like.

We couldn't find car at first, and it was still raining. That was quite annoying.

We went to The Tropicana in order to see a comedy show that was scheduled right then. While we were there we bought another shotglass.

Shotglass we got at The Tropicana. Glows really really red under the blacklight. We can't get enough fluorescent shotglasses.

We ate at The Calypso (a restaurant inside The Tropicana) before going to the "Comedy Stop". There we saw 3 comedians.

The MC was pretty funny. Then Corey Kahaney came on. She was the first of the 2 guest-comedians, and had been on HBO before. Most people agreed she was the least funny of the 3.

She heckled Clint! Corey had some bit where she asked, "Want to hear the funniest thing I saw in Vegas?". (The punchline was that there were Japanese tourists taking a picture of Sigfried & Roy's tiger, and they said it was posing, but really it was taking a dump.) Someone in the audience behind Clint yelled out "No" to her. Of course she assumed it was Clint heckling her and said something back to him. Clint sort of nodded his had back behind him, sort of trying to rat out the person who actually heckled her without having to turn around. Corey says "No, I'm talking to you. Yeah you, the guy with the sign `Dick' over his head."

The next day at a magic show we talked to a couple at a table next to us, and told them this same story. "Oh that was you?" was the response. They were there and remembered Clint from the night before. Corey Kahaney has slandered Clint's name!

As it turns out the punchline is that she saw some Japanese people taking a picture of a tiger. They had said, "Oh look, he's posing!" but he was actually taking a shit.

Finally we saw Ron Shock. At first Clint thought that he would absolutely not be funny, based on his appearance. Carolyn thought he looked nerdy. But after hearing his act, he was definitely the best of the 3 and sounded like a really cool guy in general. Clint shook his hand after telling him he was awesome when running into him in the hall afterwards.

[Ron Shock may not look like it, but HE IS HILARIOUS!]

After the show, we found a big piece of wood. Huh huh. I said wood.

Then Clint shook Ron Shock's hand. He was hurrying off to get paid.

After the show, we saw this incredible piece of art at a gift shop (later we bought it). It was this cool carved Sphinx that looked at you, "turning" its head to follow you around no matter which way you looked at it, horizontal or veritcal. It took us several minutes to even comprehend the nature of the object.

cool Egyptian Pharoah who's eyes follow you around no matter where you are... we bought this excellent piece of workmanship ($110). [Big Brother Is Watching You]

while driving down the strip we couldn't resist taking a picture of the world's largest coke bottle, actually a 2- or 3-story tall elevator that you have to pay to ride. And it's not 30 stories tall like the free elevator in the Hilton. What a rip off! [biggest Coke bottle in the world]

After the shows, we went back to hotel midnightish to crash.
