Highlights: Race For Atlantis ride, lions, fountains at Caesar's Palace

Friday we woke up between 9:30AM and 10AM PST. We left at 11 to go check out Caesar's Palace.

Caesar's Palace was really cool. Lots and lots of statues. Tons of high, curved ceilings with clouds painted on them. Something like 100 stores and restaurants (we ate at a Mexican restaurant while there).

Caesar's Palace, where people always walk in front of whoever you are taking a picture of.
(see Carolyn's head above that dumbass's shoulder?)
[Carolyn is behind that husband-dork's shoulder]

We decided to see the Ride For Atlantis -- since it had the brag of being the world's only 3-D IMAX theatre.
That means true 3-d theatre on a six-story screen!

Carolyn hanging out with a God. (Caesar's Palace) This was in the entry hallway to the "Race For Atlantis" 3-D IMAX ride. [Carolyn only comes up to his knee!]

So we did the Race For Atlantis ride. It had shutterblink 3-D goggles that gave you true 3-D (both going into the screen and coming out of the screen) with several surround-sound speakers built into the headphones for true surround sound. It was incredible.

However, it was running on a BillGates operating system so of course there were problems. Windows 3.1 crashed and they had to reboot the ride & play it a SECOND TIME. WHY IS THIS RUNNING WINDOWS 3.1???

We both felt really sick afterwards, especially from having to basically do it twice in a row. Clint blames Bill Gates.

After the horror, we laid down for awhile in front of a fountain. We were just closing our eyes trying to recover.

Carolyn @ the Caesar's Palace aquarium area. These statues came to life with fire and ice in the battle over which heir will rule Atlantis.

The screens in the background are aquarium-cams normally, but changed to support the show when it began.

All of a sudden, the fountain (surrounded by cool aquariums) became some show about passing on the crown to rule Atlantis or something.

more of the show [some God]

Another heir to Atlantis makes her case as to why she should rule.

Sorry about the decapitation.

[female heir to Atlantis]

more arguing[same female heir again (right)]

Then we finally decided to get some food to soothe our stomachs--so we went to a Mexican place. It helped alot. Then we saw the tail end of another fountain-statue-show.

more Caesar's Palace. It was cool when the statues came to life. Again, people like to walk in front of our pictures! [get your head out of my way!]

Caesar's Palace, another cool statue of a Caesar or something[not prancing, but still pretty cool]

Clint & Goddess @ Caesar's Palace[she was hotter in the Hercules series]

Star Wars Cantina Band @ "FAO Schwartz" store inside of Caesar's Palace. The store was 3 levels high & had a HUGE full-height trojan horse at the entrance.[that song gets repetitive, but the strawberry-kiwi slushee-type drink was pretty damn good]

$300,000 opal.[opal]

Clint with more Goddesses.[more heavenly-types]

Then we left & went to MGM Grand.

Here are the last 2 pictures laid side-by-side:
(just to give a gist of how big MGM Grand is)

We saw the lion habitat. You could get your pictures taken with them.

For the pictures, they basically distracted the lion cub with a bottle of milk or a toy. Right when they were ready to take the picture, the distration was taken away just long enough for the photograph. And then quickly given back before some lawyer gets rich off a lawsuit.

Lion @ MGM Grand, hanging out on the glass ceiling over our heads. [lion 2 feet away]

more lions @ MGM Grand [sleeping lions]

After that we walked around some. We took a tram to Bally's. Bally's was BORING. I think we were starting to get sick of sticking our money into slot machines as fast as humanly possible. We decided not to go to Paris. Instead we just partied at a local bar, happy to still be on vacation.
